The 5-4-3-2-1 Technique

Hey! 🙋‍♀️

Panic attacks can be overwhelming, but there's a simple technique that can help regain control: the 5-4-3-2-1 grounding method.

How it works:

5: Acknowledge five things you can see around you. This brings your focus to the present, away from racing thoughts.

4: Identify four things you can touch or feel. It reconnects you with your physical surroundings, easing anxiety.

3: Recognize three things you can hear, shifting your attention to external sounds.

2: Name two things you can smell, engaging your sense of smell.

1: Finally, taste something. It anchors you firmly in the moment.

By engaging your senses, this technique helps calm your mind during a panic attack.

Try it next time you're feeling overwhelmed!

Stay grounded and stay well.
